Dean's of Huntly in North East Scotland began manufacturing their Hand Baked shortbread in 1975. Mrs. Helen Dean began baking shortbread to raise funds for the Huntly Pipe Band and soon demand for her products spread further afield. She was then prompted to set up her own small bakery in the town to make and sell her unique home-style shortbread
